Minnesota's Top October Events and Activities

VISIT A PUMPKIN PATCH

Whether you prefer to carve scary faces into them, bake and eat the seeds, or use them as centerpieces, locally grown pumpkins are a must-have this time of year. Minnesota Grown lists around 140 pumpkin patches statewide, some of which have rides, corn mazes, petting zoos and enough activities to fill a whole day.

PICK YOUR OWN APPLES

Home to the Honeycrisp, Minnesota is one of the best places to get fresh and juicy apples straight from the tree. Pick your own at orchards like Afton Apple Orchard in Hastings, Emma Krumbee’s in Belle Plaine or Apple Jack Orchards in Delano. Or enjoy them baked into pies, turned into butter or as a beverage at restaurants and breweries.

TAKE A DRIVE TO SEE THE FALL FOLIAGE

Rainbow Routes is one of our favorite resources to take a look at to see when colors are at their peak. This will show you when and where to see the best autumn foliage here in Minnesota! Don’t miss out on this beautiful time of year!

AUTUMN FESTIVALS AND HAUNTED HOUSES

Severs Corn Maze is a fabulous family affair. With plenty to do, see, and taste- Severs Corn Maze is the place to head on one of your free weekend days this October!

At the Minnesota Zoo in Apple Valley, you will be in awe with the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular. The Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular allows you to spend time at the zoo with the animals but also allows you to see expertly carved pumpkins that will truly take your breath away.

If haunted houses are more your thing, head over to ValleyScare or ScreamTown to get your dose of the spooks! These events are not for the faint of heart and will be sure to leave you on your toes!
